of this industry. We must invest in education,
training, and continuous professional development
to build a strong and sustainable talent pipeline for
the future,” said Mary Elizabeth Cheng, Founder
and Principal of Tecnoviq Learning Academy
(TECLA) and Executive Director of BICSI
Southeast Asia Affiliate.

The event was officiated by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Human Resources, Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof.

Building on the success of its 2025 inaugural edition held in Johor Bahru and its Vietnam edition earlier this year, the conference is scheduled to take place on July 21 and 22 at Sunway Resort Hotel, focusing on advancing information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure excellence in an increasingly artificial intelligence (AI)-driven landscape.

In his speech, Azman emphasised that strengthening the nation’s talent pipeline remained a key priority as Malaysia continues to expand its digital economy.

According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), the ICT sector currently contributes RM451.3 billion, or 23.4 per cent of the national economy, while employing more than 1.25 million people nationwide. Between 2022 and 2025, over RM342 billion in digital investments were approved, which are expected to generate more than 114,000 new jobs, the majority of which are knowledge-based roles.

He noted that the growing scale of investments highlights the increasing demand for skilled professionals, particularly in areas such as data centres, network infrastructure and AI. “We recognise that building a future-ready workforce is not simply about increasing numbers. It is about ensuring that Malaysians are equipped with the right skills, the right certifications, and the right exposure to meet the demands of an increasingly complex digital landscape,” said Azman.

The conference is organised by Tecnoviq Learning Academy (TECLA), an affiliate of BICSI Southeast Asia, which is part of BICSI, the global authority in ICT standards and professional certification.

Azman also highlighted that the involvement of international bodies such as BICSI would help strengthen Malaysia’s talent development ecosystem by exposing local professionals to globally recognised benchmarks. This alignment supports the Dasar TVET Negara 2030, which emphasises industry-driven training and continuous upskilling.

“The adoption of internationally recognised certifications like BICSI and structured training pathways will certainly help to strengthen industry standards while ensuring a consistent, high-quality talent pool aligned with evolving technological needs,” he added.
He pointed out that closer collaboration between industry players, training institutions and policymakers was also crucial to ensure skills development remains aligned with market needs, particularly in addressing skills mismatch and supporting workforce mobility.

Echoing these sentiments, Executive Chair of BICSI Southeast Asia, Dr. Garies Chong stated, “At BICSI Southeast Asia, we are committed to elevating industry standards while nurturing a highly skilled talent pool and fostering stronger regional collaboration, key pillars in building a resilient and future-ready ICT ecosystem.”

The conference is expected to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, technology providers and educators from across the region to exchange best practices and strengthen regional collaboration. The soft launch saw a gathering of well-known movers in the ICT industry from industry players to government agencies like the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC), Invest Selangor, Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec), and Cyberview.

The BICSI Southeast Asia Malaysia Conference & Exhibition 2026 has received support from agencies such as the MDEC, Sidec and Cyberview alongside the National Tech Association of Malaysia (PIKOM), as well as corporate sponsors like Softing AG (Germany), SENKO Advanced Components (Euro) Ltd. (UK), OneSystems Technologies Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), and Datwyler AG (Switzerland) among others.

The organisers also announced they continue to welcome corporate sponsorships for the July conference, offering organisations a strategic platform to showcase their capabilities and engage directly with key industry stakeholders. Interested parties are encouraged to connect with a TECLA representative for partnership opportunities via email at info@bicsi-sea.org.

Getha has unveiled its latest flagship product

MALAYSIA’S AWARD-WINNING SLEEP BRAND GETHA UNVEILS TRANSFORME MIRACLE LATEX PRIMEFIBRE MATTRESS WITH NEW COOLING INNOVATION, EYES WIDER MARKET REACH
According to Getha’s project director Kevin Tan, the two latest offerings under the Tranforme series were developed based on consumer insights, “Listening closely to customer feedback, we introduced the Transforme Miracle Latex PrimeFibre for those seeking a more premium, thicker and firmer mattress, while also offering the Miracle Latex Mattress as an entry-level option".

KUALA LUMPUR, 6 April 2026 — Homegrown premium sleep solutions brand Getha has unveiled its latest flagship product, the evolved & improved Transforme Miracle Latex PrimeFibre Mattress, in a launch that underscores Malaysia’s growing strengths in high-value manufacturing, sustainable innovation and advanced latex technology. Held at Sunway Pyramid, the launch was officiated by the Deputy Secretary-General (Investment & Management) of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil.
Bahria said the launch reflects the country’s ability to transform local resources into globally competitive products, “This is what we mean when we say “Made by Malaysia”; products that are designed, developed, and perfected here, with strong Malaysian expertise and creativity.”

Speaking at the event, Bahria said the launch reflects the country’s ability to transform local resources into globally competitive products.
The launch was further elevated by two recognitions from the Malaysia Book of Records for the First Graphite+ Infused Natural Latex Mattress and the First Natural Cooling Mattress, marking another milestone in Getha’s innovation journey.
Getha has unveiled its latest flagship product, the evolved & improved Transforme Miracle Latex PrimeFibre Mattress, officiated by the Deputy Secretary-General (Investment & Management) of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil. Also present were (from left) Dato’ Andre Goh, deputy president of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), Yong Mei Tsin, Getha’s executive director, Jason Chin, CEO of Sunway Malls Selangor, Kevin Tan, project director of Getha, and Zahiruddin Basran, Manager, Export Promotion & Market and access division, MATRADE.

“This is a strong example of how Malaysian companies continue to innovate, add value to our natural resources, and strengthen the nation’s reputation in premium manufacturing and sustainable product development,” remarked Bahria. “This is what we mean when we say “Made by Malaysia”; products that are designed, developed, and perfected here, with strong Malaysian expertise and creativity,” she added.

Following its launch in November 2025, The Transforme Miracle Latex Mattress has helped thousands of Malaysians to sleep better. The enhanced version, Transforme Miracle Latex PrimeFibre Mattress, is described by Getha as one of its most advanced natural sleep innovations to date. The premium mattress combines the company’s Miracle Latex material made from their proprietary Graphite+ technology, reaffirming Getha’s longstanding association with Malaysia’s world-renowned rubber industry.

In line with its sustainability positioning, the mattress also incorporates rubberised coconut fibre and BioCool, which the company claimed as Malaysia’s first natural cooling fabric made from sugar cane fibres. The material was developed to provide a cooling sleep experience while reducing reliance on highly synthetic fabrics that are commonly used in conventional mattresses.

Further enhancing the sleep experience is the inclusion of Suprelle Cool Night in the quilting layer, a high tech performance fibrefill embedded with Cool Flow Crimp technology, designed to improve heat dissipation and lower sleep temperature for better overnight comfort.

At the heart of the mattress is Getha’s most advanced latex formulation to date.

According to the company, the Miracle Latex core delivers up to four times more elasticity compared to conventional mattress materials such as compressed fibres or foams. The extraordinary elasticity allows the material to achieve stronger structural resilience for improved body support and a longer product lifespan, positioning the mattress as a premium long-term investment for consumers.

Priced from RM6,999, the internationally-acclaimed bedding brand is introducing a limited-time launch promotion, featuring a limited-time exclusive 35% discount along with a trade-in offer of up to RM1,500 on the Transforme Miracle Latex PrimeFibre Mattress. With every purchase, customers will also receive up to two complimentary units of Getha’s Miracle Latex Pillows, each worth RM399, depending on the selected mattress size.

Beyond the flagship unveiling, the world’s longest-surviving latex mattress manufacturer also used the launch to broaden its consumer proposition through the introduction of the Miracle Latex Mattress, an online-exclusive entry-level offering targeted at young professionals and first-time homeowners starting from RM2,499.

Innovation Never Sleeps

“Since we launched the Transforme Miracle Latex Mattress in November 2025, we have been humbled by the overwhelming response, with thousands of Malaysians already experiencing better sleep through the product,” said Getha’s project director Kevin Tan. “Listening closely to customer feedback, we introduced the Transforme Miracle Latex PrimeFibre for those seeking a more premium, thicker and firmer mattress, while also offering the Miracle Latex Mattress as an entry-level  option, particularly for young professionals starting their careers.”

Reflecting Getha’s broader mission of promoting better sleep wellness across different consumer segments while nurturing long-term brand loyalty, customers can take advantage of exclusive vouchers & rebates of up to RM1,500 on the online-exclusive Miracle Latex Mattress, with instalment plans starting from RM47 per month.

With a footprint spanning more than 30 countries, Tan attributed Getha’s international growth to the branding grant it received from the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) in 2006, which helped launch its global presence. The occasion also reinforced the company’s standing as an award-winning Malaysian brand, underscored by 10 World Branding Award accolades since 2015, and further elevated by two recognitions from the Malaysia Book of Records for the First Graphite+ Infused Natural Latex Mattress and the First Natural Cooling Mattress, marking another milestone in its innovation journey.

The dual-product strategy, combining a flagship innovation with a more affordable alternative, is expected to strengthen Getha’s position across both premium and emerging consumer segments in Malaysia and abroad.
