Dato’ Calvin Khiu founded MK Curtain in year 2005, and has turned it to be a Retail Chain for curtains, bed sheets, wallpaper, blinds and home decoration. From one shop which is located in Nilai, today Calvin has expanded his small business into a big warehouse and expanded to 25 branches in Malaysia (equivalent to 100 shops) within 9 years, including a new 99,000 sqf ‘Home Décor Retail Center’. Calvin focuses on high customer satisfaction by sourcing original & quality materials, introducing creative design manufactured by professional tailors and ensuring fast delivery. He also introduced profit sharing concept via a licensing program to his staff to promote entrepreneurship spirit in his team.
In
recognition of his success, Dato’ Calvin has received a number of awards
including the Sin Chew Business Excellence Award 2014, the Golden Eagle
Award 2014 and the JCI Top 10 Outstanding Young Malaysians Award 2013.
Dato’ Calvin, despite growing up in a single parent family, raised up by his grandmother in humble surroundings, 13years old start working as night market hawker and LPG delivery boy in his teens, has defied all odds to be a millionaire. He lives by the motto “If I can, everybody also can”.
