SUBANG JAYA, MALAYSIA – August 19, 2026 – Experiential mobility and outdoor platform By The Billions (BTB) has officially announced that its premier annual overland event, Malayan Expedition (MX) 2026, has fully sold out across all 4x4 categories.

The announcement was made during an official Press Conference held at PARC, Subang Jaya, where BTB also formalized a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Enggang Management Services (EMS) and the Al-Sultan Abdullah Royal Tiger Reserve (ASARTR). The joint initiative establishes the Habitat Enrichment Project, setting a new standard for environmental accountability within Malaysia's outdoor and automotive sectors.

Marking its evolution under the overarching ethos "From Exploration to Impact," MX2026 aligns directly with national eco-tourism objectives ahead of ‘Visit Malaysia 2026’ by bridging urban outdoor culture, backcountry exploration, and structured socio-economic development for inland communities.

High Demand Meets Environmental Responsibility

"High demand for outdoor adventure must be met with equal responsibility," said Nedree Mohd Nazlan, Founder of By The Billions. Key Pillars of the ASARTR Habitat Enrichment Project (Sept 2026 – Sept 2027):

Targeted Species Protection: Direct ecological support for the habitat of the endangered Malayan tiger (Panthera tigris jacksoni).

Fig Tree Procurement & Planting: BTB will procure and plant a minimum of 500 fig trees (Ficus sp.) saplings to enrich biodiversity and bolster the local prey base.

Local Livelihood Support: All saplings will be directly purchased from the ASARTR Central Nursery in Kampung Mat Daling, Pahang, ensuring direct economic benefits for local village nurseries.

12-Month Audited Monitoring: BTB field teams will conduct a year-long growth tracking and care program—replacing non-surviving saplings—before handing detailed environmental records back to ASARTR.

Zero New Trail Disturbance: Expedition convoys will strictly utilize permitted pre-existing logging roads under Jerantut District Forestry Department oversight, avoiding new trail creation or forest fragmentation.

Urban Launchpad: 4Wheels Fest & Adventure Festival 2026

The week-long celebration kicks off publicly on September 12 2026, at PARC, Subang Jaya, with the return of Adventure Festival 2026 (formerly known as 4Wheel Fest). The free-to-enter urban festival acts as the central hub for Malaysia's outdoor, camping, and 4x4 communities before vehicles depart into the wilderness.

Festival Highlights Include:

Overland Rigs & Gear Showcase: Live displays of custom 4x4 expedition setups, rooftop tents, and technical builds.

Interactive Marketplace: Direct access to premier automotive, outdoor, and lifestyle equipment brands.

Wilderness Gastronomy: The return of the high-stakes Outdoor Cooking Challenge, blending outdoor culinary talent with regional Pahang flavors.

Scrutineering & Public Flag-Off: Technical inspections and safety briefings for all expedition vehicles, concluding with the official public send-off on September 13.

Traversing Pahang: Rig Prep and Community Engagement

Following flag-off at PARC Subang Jaya, the 120-vehicle convoy will tackle 630 kilometers of technical terrain, moving from urban highways to unpaved logging tracks deep within Pahang, before finishing on the coast of Cherating on September 18.

To ensure maximum safety and minimal trail disruption, participating 4WDs undergo mandatory technical inspections. URGENT NEED FOR HIGHLY SKILLED ICT TALENT AS A RESULT OF AI AND DATA CENTER EXPLOSION BECOMES FOCUS OF BICSI SOUTH EAST ASIA CONFERENCE

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 July 2026 — The rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI), hyperscale data centres and cloud computing in Malaysia needs to be supported by the development of local talent capable of meeting the needs of the increasingly complex information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure industry.

Deputy Minister of Human Resources Datuk Khairul Firdaus bin Akbar Khan said the development of digital technology would not be fully utilized if the country failed to provide skilled manpower to design, develop, operate and maintain the infrastructure that is the backbone of the digital economy.

“Today, artificial intelligence is transforming every sector, but AI does not operate in isolation. Every AI application relies on secure data centers, high-speed fiber networks, structured cabling systems, cloud infrastructure, and resilient communication networks.

"In other words, there is no AI economy without world-class ICT infrastructure and there is no world-class ICT infrastructure without world-class skilled workers," he said.

He said this when opening the BICSI Southeast Asia Conference & Exhibition Malaysia 2026 at the Sunway Resort Hotel here today.

The two-day conference, themed "Advancing ICT Infrastructure for an AI-Connected Future", brought together industry players, engineers, consultants, technology providers, data centre operators, policymakers and business leaders from Malaysia and Southeast Asian countries.

The conference comes as Malaysia continues to attract significant investments in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and hyperscale data centres. With total approved investments exceeding RM92.8 billion in the first quarter of 2026, including RM38.9 billion in the ICT sector according to the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), and the country's data centre capacity expected to exceed 4,000MW after 2026, the need for a highly skilled ICT workforce is becoming increasingly critical.

This development shows the increasing demand for professionals with expertise in data center engineering, cloud infrastructure, network architecture, cybersecurity and sustainable ICT infrastructure development.

At the same time, Malaysia faces the challenge of ensuring that its existing workforce can adapt to rapid technological changes.

The AI, Digital and Green Economy Impact Study  by TalentCorp estimates that approximately 697,000 workers in the country are at risk of significant job transitions in the next three to five years due to automation.

Therefore, efforts to improve skills and retrain need to be implemented continuously to ensure that the local workforce remains relevant and can take advantage of the opportunities created by the growth of the digital economy.

Khairul Firdaus stressed, “While the influx of investment in hyperscale data centres and digital infrastructure is a positive development, Malaysia’s ability to sustain this growth in the long term depends on the extent to which the country is able to produce highly skilled local talent.”

Meanwhile, BICSI Southeast Asia Affiliate Director Mary Elizabeth Cheng said Malaysia was strategically positioned to host the conference following the country's rapid growth in the AI, hyperscale data centre, cloud computing and digital connectivity sectors.

“With Southeast Asia, particularly Malaysia, continuing to witness rapid growth in AI, hyperscale data centers, cloud computing and digital connectivity, the need for internationally recognized standards, quality training and professional certification has never been more important,” he said.

BICSI Chief Executive Officer John H. Daniels said the strength of a digital infrastructure hub does not only depend on the number of facilities built, but is also determined by the capabilities of the workforce that manages it .

According to him, AI, cloud computing and data centre operations require ICT infrastructure that is designed, installed, tested and maintained according to sound professional standards and practices.

The event was officiated by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Human Resources, Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof.

Building on the success of its 2025 inaugural edition held in Johor Bahru and its Vietnam edition earlier this year, the conference is scheduled to take place on July 21 and 22 at Sunway Resort Hotel, focusing on advancing information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure excellence in an increasingly artificial intelligence (AI)-driven landscape.

In his speech, Azman emphasised that strengthening the nation’s talent pipeline remained a key priority as Malaysia continues to expand its digital economy.

According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), the ICT sector currently contributes RM451.3 billion, or 23.4 per cent of the national economy, while employing more than 1.25 million people nationwide. Between 2022 and 2025, over RM342 billion in digital investments were approved, which are expected to generate more than 114,000 new jobs, the majority of which are knowledge-based roles.

He noted that the growing scale of investments highlights the increasing demand for skilled professionals, particularly in areas such as data centres, network infrastructure and AI. “We recognise that building a future-ready workforce is not simply about increasing numbers. It is about ensuring that Malaysians are equipped with the right skills, the right certifications, and the right exposure to meet the demands of an increasingly complex digital landscape,” said Azman.

The conference is organised by Tecnoviq Learning Academy (TECLA), an affiliate of BICSI Southeast Asia, which is part of BICSI, the global authority in ICT standards and professional certification.

Azman also highlighted that the involvement of international bodies such as BICSI would help strengthen Malaysia’s talent development ecosystem by exposing local professionals to globally recognised benchmarks. This alignment supports the Dasar TVET Negara 2030, which emphasises industry-driven training and continuous upskilling.

“The adoption of internationally recognised certifications like BICSI and structured training pathways will certainly help to strengthen industry standards while ensuring a consistent, high-quality talent pool aligned with evolving technological needs,” he added.

He pointed out that closer collaboration between industry players, training institutions and policymakers was also crucial to ensure skills development remains aligned with market needs, particularly in addressing skills mismatch and supporting workforce mobility.

(吉隆坡23日讯) — 第二届BICSI东南亚马来西亚大会暨展览会2026今日举行试营运推展仪式，象征着马来西亚继续野心勃勃致力于巩固它作为本区域数码基本建设枢纽的地位。

是项活动乃由人力资源部秘书长拿督Azman Mohd Yusof主持开幕。

继去年于新山成功举办首届大会之后，今年再接再厉预订于7月21和22日假双威度假村酒店举办次届大会，内容专注于在日渐迈向人工智慧(AI)驱动型的生态环境中促进卓越的信息与通讯工艺(ICT)基本建设。

Azman在他的讲词中强调，强化我国的人才梯队依然是首要的优先事项，因为马来西亚正准备继续扩展它的数码经济。

根据马来西亚统计局(DOSM)，ICT领域目前贡献4513亿令吉或占全国经济的百分之23.4，同时在全国各地聘请125多万人。介于2022年和2025年之间，当局批准了逾342 0亿令吉的数码投资额，预料将制造11万4千多份就业良机，其中绝大部份属于知识基础型的职场角色。

他指出，投资的规模与日俱增彰显着熟练专业人士的需求量越来越大，尤其是在数据中心、网络基本建设及AI等领域。“我们承认建立一支未来就绪型的劳动力不纯粹是提高人数而已。重点是确保马来西亚人能够掌握正确的技能、合适的认证以及适当的曝光度，以便迎合日渐繁复的数码环境之需求。”Azman说道。

Rotary District 3300 Presents Charity Concert Featuring Selangor Symphony 

Youth Orchestra in Support of End Polio Now

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 22 April 2026 – Rotary International District 3300, in collaboration 

with the Rotary Club of Rahman Putra as co-organiser, proudly presents a special Charity 

Concert at the prestigious Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP). This meaningful evening 

brings together music, community, and purpose in support of Rotary’s global End Polio Now

campaign.

Taking centre stage is the Selangor Symphony Youth Orchestra (SSYO), a dynamic 

ensemble of young musicians whose passion and dedication embody the spirit of hope and 

progress. Under the baton of internationally acclaimed maestro Eugene Pook, the orchestra 

will deliver an inspiring programme that blends artistic excellence with a powerful humanitarian 

mission.

The evening will also feature celebrated local vocalists Eddie Yang Ting, Angeline Wong 

Xiao Feng,and Estee Pook, creating a compelling collaboration between emerging orchestral 

talent and established voices in Malaysia’s music scene.

Following its launch in November 2025, The Transforme Miracle Latex Mattress has helped thousands of Malaysians to sleep better. The enhanced version, Transforme Miracle Latex PrimeFibre Mattress, is described by Getha as one of its most advanced natural sleep innovations to date. The premium mattress combines the company’s Miracle Latex material made from their proprietary Graphite+ technology, reaffirming Getha’s longstanding association with Malaysia’s world-renowned rubber industry.
