People of all ages were drawn close to horses at the National Horse Show. It is not just because of their beauty, grace and their majestic stature but also to grab the opportunity of being up-close with this magnificent animal in a carnival atmosphere.
Held over three days from November 10 till 12, 2017 at the STC Equestrian and Sports Centre in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur, the National Horse Show provide a great opportunity to visitors to get a glimpse into the w...orld of horses. A host of exciting and activities were organized for all horse lovers.
Among them are equestrian competitions which includes dressage and show jumping, equine exposition where the public can acquire information on career opportunities available within the industry, pony and carriage rides and display of horse breed and carriages.
Other activities include Wall Climbing, Flying Fox, Performances, game stalls, treasure hunts, competitions and a live demonstration corner featuring horse dentistry and farriers in action.
The Chairman of Malaysia Equine Council, General Tan Sri Dato Sri (Dr) Haji Zulkifeli (B) declared opened the National Horse Show 2017 which saw participation of over 200 riders and horses.
The Chairman of the STC Equestrian and Sports Centre, Tan Sri Datuk Richard Cham Hak Lim in his welcoming speech said, since the introduction of the show in 1994, the show has truly lived up to its promise as the biggest and the most comprehensive horse event in the country. The show has always been a good platform to showcase the many facets of the industry and has succeed in creating the interest and awareness among the general public in many opportunities which the industry has to offer.
During the official opening, the Malaysian Equine Council renewed its agreement with Equestrian Australia Incorporated which provides the Council with the sole rights to utilize the EA Syllabus in Malaysia thus preserving the standards required in the accreditation for equestrian coach qualification.
The Equine Council was represented by General Tan Sri Zulkifeli, ,meanwhile Equestrian Australia was represented by Chairperson, Equestrian Australia National Board Mrs. Judith Berry Fasher, The National Horse Show is a community project of STC Equestrian and Sports Centre and entrance to the show is free.
