“Teresa” – The Musical is back to Malaysia! 焦媛 Perry Chiu 化身鄧麗君！由國家一級劇作家沙葉新編劇、著名導演高志森執導、舞臺劇名演員焦媛 Perry Chiu 和李潤祺 KEVIN 擔任主演的音樂劇 《鄧麗君 Teresa》臺上的焦媛氣質和扮相驚人地神似鄧麗君，她真實重演鄧麗君生前故事的點滴。可以毫不誇張地說，自鄧麗君去世後這 20 年間，模仿鄧麗君的人數不勝數，卻唯獨舞臺紀念劇《鄧麗君 Teresa》上演前最受期待，謝幕後深得人心。當中原因除了因為有高志森和焦媛的參與，最難得的是請到國家一級劇作家沙葉新來擔任編劇。沙先生在著手創 作劇本之前，曾花 7 年時間到鄧麗君生前所到的各個地方，做充足的資料搜集，才有了今天完整而震撼的鄧麗君故事。相信到場欣賞的朋友都感受到這齣舞臺劇的動人與精彩，導演高志 森說，「其實這個劇的劇本十分特別，沙葉新的描述手法是帶領觀眾進入鄧麗君的內心世界，更讓大家目睹了鄧麗君的異國愛情故事」。而焦媛總共演唱的 28 首鄧麗君名曲，每首歌曲都緊扣劇情，令全程兩小時的表演相當緊湊，用高志森的話說，「真是眨眼的半秒都是浪費
“Teresa” – The Musical will be back to perform in Malaysia on 3rd September 2016, Saturday, 8pm at Mega Star Arena. Musical “Teresa” is proudly present to you by OBOR, organized by Mega Ultimate and produced by Perry Chiu Experimental Theatre.
“Teresa” – The Musical is an artful culmination that reveals insight into the megastar’s minimal known side. This musical will uncover reality about Teresa Teng, and how a rebellious lady who subverted customs spent a whole lifetime seeking after her standards of flexibility, equity and reality.
The plot mainly narrates how the demure, frail, yet fresh and sweet-looking Teresa Teng sought spiritual freedom through three heart-wrenching romances. She fearlessly showed how a Chinese woman was unafraid of going against secular notions, boldly throwing off the shackles of tradition, and overcoming transnational, racial, age boundaries to pursue true love. Three contradictory and conflicting relationships with Jackie Chan, Beau Kuok the son of a sugar tycoon, and a French lover, wholly depict her defiance and anti-feudal spirit.
“Teresa” – The Musical has been performed in Hong Kong, London and Vancouver and it received a standing ovation, now the musical will be back to perform in Malaysia, whoever had miss it before, now you have the chance to reminisce Teresa Teng through the musical. The musical is produced by Spring- Time Stage Productions’ Ko Chi Sum ( Clifton Ko )and featured by Hong Kong actress Perry Chiu. Perry Chiu is a veteran and an experienced theatre actress, even bagging the Shanghai Magnolia Drama Awards with her outstanding performance in “The Story of the Golden Lock”. Bringing together her superb acting skills and natural flair for the role, Perry brings Teresa Teng back to life onstage once more.
Besides that, unlike other tribute shows, which simply celebrate the music of the artiste in question, in order to research Teresa Teng role, a Chinese renowned writer Sha Yexin has travelled to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and France to find out the untold story of Teresa Teng and the challenge she faced.
On the musical day, Perry Chiu will perform Teresa Teng’s classical song such as I Only Care About You, The Moon Represents My Heart, Goodbye My Love and so on.

Teresa Teng, Teng Li-Chun or Deng Lijun (January 29, 1953 – May 8, 1995) was a Taiwanese pop singer. She was known for her folk songs and romantic ballads. Many became standards in her lifetime, such as "When Will You Return?" and "The Moon Represents My Heart". She recorded songs not only in her native Mandarin but also in Taiwanese Hokkien, Cantonese, Japanese, Indonesian and English.
Teng, a lifelong sufferer from asthma, died in 1995 from a severe respiratory attack while on vacation in Thailand. She was 42.
