The story behind Thalgo
André Bouclet, a French pharmacist, was passionate about the marine world and convinced it would be the source of great therapeutic and cosmetic discoveries. Supported by the work of René Quinton, a biologist who scientifically established the therapeutic virtues of seawater, Bouclet went on to discover a unique, revolutionary procedure to adapt algae-concentrated sea salts to the skin. Datin Sharifah Shawati has just emb...arked in the Fashion scene as a Fashion Designer , realizing her passion in what has been the subject that is close to her heart. She had participated in the Malaysian Fashion Week 2016 showcasing her very first creation in corporate wear named after herself –S H A W A T I.
An author of an image book – “Your Image is Your Best Asset”, who has a gifted talent in fashion sense and image transformation. In February 2005, through the Image Asia Training, now known as Academy Image Mastery, Singapore in collaboration with the London Image Institute, she has been certified as a Professional Image Trainer. She is also a supporter of AICI – Association of Image Consultants International.
Datin Shawati has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Dublin Metropolitan University in Ireland.
She is also one of the 500 trainers in Malaysia certified as NS [Neuro-Semantics] & NLP [Neuro –Linguistic] Master Practitioner Coach. This remarkable and exclusive certification enables Datin Shawati to train and coach corporations or individual on developing Emotional Intelligence, The Art of Persuasion, Rapport Building, Communication using powerful words, Understanding Human Beings, Building Healthy Relationships in one’s career and personal life using proven powerful techniques of NLP.
She collaborated with various magazines in Malaysia as their columnist such as: -
Jelita Magazine for 1 year Nona Magazine 2 years for Mingguan MStar (MStar) in The Sunday Star, where she contributed weekly on every aspect of grooming and etiquette from top to toe and she was a Special Guest Host for Nona TV3, a highly rated Woman’s programme which was aired every Sunday, 2.00 – 3.00pm, contributing on issues such as, Image and Etiquette weekly. Datin Shawati was also interviewed by Astro Oasis, capturing her successful journey from her humble beginning till today and Radio Television Malaysia, documented a special documentary on her as one of the “Successful Women of Malaysia”. She is committed to excellence and desired to empower others’ lives to their fullest potential. She has been featured in various TV/Radio/Printed Media interviews on her work as an Image Trainer and her professional views pertaining Image Branding, Projection and Building Self Esteem.
Her many experiences begin as a TV Presenter and News Anchor in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at a government station called RTM for 5 years. She later joined a private TV station called TV3 for 8 years as an anchor for live talk shows on women’s issues. She also had her own shows called ‘Fesyen’, ‘Di Sebalik Tabir’ and ‘Wanita Hari Ini’ besides reading the prime time bulletins. Her years in broadcasting have allowed her to expand her attributes by appearing as public speaker for various events and emceeing at different social and business events for 13 years.
She has been acknowledged by numerous prestigious magazines as a Fashion Icon, such as ‘One Of The Most Glamorous Women’ by EH! in 2005, ‘Ten Most Stylish Women’ by Her World in 2006, ‘The 10 Most Well Dressed Women’ by Malaysian Tattler in 2007 and ‘The Finalist Of Wanita Ikon’ by Wanita in 2007. She was also awarded the ‘Anugerah Usahawan Kreatif Anak Trengganu’ by the Government from the state Trengganu in 2006.
She is also a Certified Hairstylist with a Diploma in Hairdressing by the A Cut Above Academy, a renowned Hairdressing School in Malaysia.
Datin Shawati’s grace also came from the experiences she gathered during her tenure as a Flight Supervisor in Malaysia Airlines (MAS) for 7 years which stresses on the importance of grooming and deportment. Through these years, she has acquired numerous accreditations and recognition pertaining her fashion sense and style.
Datin Shawati is currently in the midths of writing her second book on Women and Relationships.
