The Sleeping Beauty first premiered in St. Petersburg in 1890. 129 years later, the legendary St Petersburg Theatre Russian Ballet will be performing it for the first time in Malaysia. The Sleeping Beauty is a real masterpiece of the Russian Ballet. Choreographed by the famous legend Marius Petipa, ballet critics consider the ballet as the “encyclopedia of classical dance.” The music was composed by the famous Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikocsky.

（吉隆坡23日讯）具传奇性的世界知名芭蕾舞团—圣彼得剧院俄罗斯芭蕾舞团已同马来西亚的The Dance Company (TDC) 达成一份协议，以便联合举办经典原创舞剧“睡美人”的亚洲世界首演会。随着去年由Ballet West芭蕾舞团呈献的’天鹅湖’成功演出后，TDC这次带来由33位舞者组成的整支世界著名圣彼得堡剧院俄罗斯芭蕾舞团呈献的 ‘睡美人’，向大家展现他们表演高难度技巧舞步的天分。这将是圣彼得堡俄罗斯芭蕾舞团首次来马来西亚表演，亦是睡美人舞剧在亚洲的首演会。
签约仪式是在森美兰州王室成员YTM TunkuMu’Tamir、森美兰州王室成员YBhg Datin Paulene Tunku Mu’Tamir、俄罗斯科学与文化中心总监 Ayrat A. Akhmetov博士、苏特拉基金会主席拿督Ramli Ibrahim、JKKN策划与政策部助理总监Haniah Hassan女士以及各媒体界同仁的见证下进行。
在马来西亚的睡美人演出将延续俄罗斯经典芭蕾舞的悠久及伟大传统，并重现大多数人都认定的俄罗斯芭蕾舞黄金年代之原创舞步。该公司每年前往130多个城市呈献250场一票难求的巡演，地点包括芬兰、比利时、贺兰、德国、加拿大、中国和美国。
Dance Artistry International 的会长Audrey Kwan透露：“睡美人是于1890年在圣彼得堡举办首演礼。129年之后，这支具传奇性的圣彼得堡剧院芭蕾舞团首次把他们本土著名‘睡美人’经典舞剧搬来亚洲巡演，令我们深感宠幸。” 睡美人是真正的俄罗斯芭蕾舞蹈杰作，它的舞步是由著名的传奇人物Marius Petipa编排，他也是芭蕾舞界评论家公认的“经典舞蹈的百科全书”。舞剧的曲目则是由著名的俄罗斯作曲家Pyotr Tchaikovsky创作，他也是名气不小的风头人物。
‘睡美人’舞剧作品的导演是Aleksandr Manoshkin，而Anna Voitina与Aleksandr Voitina 则是其中两位主力舞蹈员。该剧的艺术指导是Alexander Bruskin，即基洛夫舞团的前首席舞者兼Mikhail Baryshnikov的同学，也是传奇性芭蕾舞导师Alexander Pushkin的爱徒兼 RudolfNureyev的恩师！
